Open Enrollment for individual health insurance ended on February 15. Fortunately, outside of Open Enrollment, there are still opportunities to get covered with an individual policy if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period. Here are some of the qualifying events that could create a Special Enrollment Period for you.
- Getting Married
- Having a Baby
- Adopting a Child
- Placing a Child for Adoption or Foster Care
- Losing Other Coverage
- Letting your policy lapse due to non-payment of premium will not qualify you for a Special Enrollment Period
- Moving Outside Your Plan Coverage Area
- Gaining Citizenship
- End of Incarceration
These are not all of the events that qualify for a Special Enrollment Period. If you have questions, let’s talk. Give us a call at 800-303-6329 or send us a message.
